Be Your West End Best
Safeguarding will always be our highest priority at West End. In our most recent safeguarding audit (June 2022), the local authority graded the school as outstanding.
We are committed to safeguarding and protecting our children. We expect all staff, volunteers and visitors to share this commitment. Photographs and videos of children is not permitted without prior permission from the headteacher.
If you are concerned about the safety of any student in our school, you must report this to our safeguarding team.
You can do this by completing a Cause for Concern form. These are located in the red folders in every classroom and at the school office. Once complete, please hand this directly to a member of the safeguarding team.
Our school staff and governors have up to date training to ensure that our safeguarding is effective.
All of these staff members are available to support children and families. If you have a concern, please do not hesitate to contact them on inclusion@westendprimary.org.uk; 01132582819.
Our PSHE curriculum is designed to support the children's understanding of safeguarding at age appropriate levels and to develop skills to keep themselves safe and make safe choices. The children are taught about ways to keep themselves safe in a variety of scenarios, road safety, first aid, online safety and stranger danger. We also develop the children's understanding of right and wrong actions, the power they have to say no the importance of reporting worries and concerns. For further details see our curriculum pages.
