Physical Development is made up of two aspects: Moving and Handling and Health and Self Care.
The children have many opportunities to play safely, both indoors and outdoors. Activities are planned to develop both children's gross motor skills and fine motor skills.
Activities include gym, music and movement, using small and large apparatus, games where children learn how to throw and catch, and work as part of a group.
They are also encouraged to develop physically using scooters, trikes and specific climbing equipment.
Children find out about the benefits of a healthy life style on their bodies. This includes all the factors that affect healthy development including making healthy choices in relation to food. It also includes managing their personal needs, such as dressing.
