Geography
We seek to inspire the children to be curious about the world they inhabit; countries and people, physical environments and natural resources. Through their exploration and understanding of the incredible world we live in, the children learn about how the world is connected and how dependant we are on our fragile planet.
At West End, every child is a geographer and our skill based geography curriculum allows children to develop knowledge of places both near and far, making and using maps, with maps, atlases, globes and online resources and maps forming an integral part of the classroom environment. Children learn how to analyse why features are where they are and the impact that they have on the wider environment. Their responsibility and role in looking after the planet they share with others underpins our curriculum wherever possible.
