History at West End
At West End, we aim to create passionate historians who can recount and explain events of the past and how they have shaped the world we live in today and out future lives and perspectives. As Historians, the children develop an understanding of chronology and consider the ways in which history is presented. From using artefacts to challenging sources, children are encouraged to critically consider the information they are presented with. They look at the causes and significance of events, differences and similarities and where possible make links with prior learning. Every opportunity is taken to bring History into the classroom through trips, visitors, recreations and artefact collections.
