School Council

West End School Council meet regularly to discuss upcoming events, fund raising ideas and how the pupils can participate in the everyday life of the school.

School Council gives every child a voice!

School council have completed their first project organising our wonderful Children in Need events our dressing up as Pudsey, bun sale, guessing Pudsey's favourite food and taking part in Joe Wicks live nationwide exercise class with Pudsey helped us to raise an impressive  £307.90  so thank you for all your support with this.  As ever parents, we couldn't have managed it without your kind generosity; the children loved the entire week especially as our build up included a real life visit from Pudsey himself, the children were thrilled to welcome our VIP into school! The empathy our children showed for such a great cause whilst having a brilliant day left staff feeling proud of our West Enders!

School Council is made up of 2 pupils from Year 1 to Year 6, with Reception set to join us later on in the school year.   We have a Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, Communications Officer and Treasurer. The children love the various roles of managing the meetings, putting information on the school website, composing letters, counting money and arranging events.  Our School Council also work closely with the Horsforth Cluster Council. We support lots of national and local charities including Children in Need and Red Nose Day, St. Georges Crypt and The Horsforth Food Bank and The Real Junk Food Project.   These are to name just a few we are very excited about lots more projects to follow.

Digital Leaders

Following in class elections, our new Digital Leaders have been chosen! Have a look at the slideshow below to learn more about them! In their first term, they have been focusing on E-Safety. They helped to deliver assemblies to Key Stage 1 and 2 during Safer Internet Day and then conducted interviews with children in the afternoon based around the theme of 'Consent' and what 'Permission' means when using the internet.  Next, they will be reviewing how we use technology such as the Learn Pads in lessons and how this could be improved.
