Every year we celebrate ‘Spirit Alive’ and Healthy Schools’ Week. These initiatives have been set up to promote increased involvement, participation and enjoyment of health and physical activity. During this week, children in school participate in activities and compete in inter-house tournaments as part of their house group.
As part of their ‘Leadership Training,’ Kestrel Class (Y6) devise and plan all the sporting activities, which run throughout the week. This begins with an opening ceremony where the children parade in their houses and watch a dance routine and speeches prepared by Y6. Throughout the week, all classes participate in a series of ongoing sports challenges and activities where children have the opportunity to earn points for their houses through demonstrating skill, effort, determination and teamwork.
At the end of the week, there is a closing ceremony and the house with most points is crowned the winner!
This year's winners were: SWALEDALE
