Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural development in school.
West End promotes pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development in all our work with the children. Our climate, aims and ethos enables all pupils to grow and flourish, become confident individuals, and appreciate their own worth and that of others.
We achieve SMSC development by many means. We are proud of our creative child led curriculum, our carefully planned PSHE curriculum and our expertise in delivering circle times and SEAL sessions. Alongside our curriculum we offer a vast array of extra curricula activities, themed days and weeks and many ways to promote pupil voice.
Here at West End we believe strongly in pupil voice and ensure the highest levels of pupil participation through a creative child led curriculum. Through Investors in Pupils the children are empowered to manage and organise their classroom, agree targets and mission statements as well as gaining an insight into how the school is managed and organised. This work is further enhanced through school council and events such as takeover day where the pupils manage and organise day to day activities and lead on school development and priorities.
