Another busy week in Year 6. We are really proud of the children in Year 6 who shared their power points about Robinwood with the rest of the school. They were confident and enthusiastic and everyone enjoyed listening to them.
We have used our classification of plant skills this week to create garden centres. The children have ensured that their customers know the characteristics of the plants they are buying. In ICT we have researched biomes and will be creating fact files for desserts and arctic tundra.
In English we have begun making our very own book of wonders. The children have written the introduction and have issued very solemn warnings of the consequences of the book being misused. We are now moving on to create our own worlds in the Nowhere Emporium. The children have been using commas in lists, always making sure that the sentence before the colon makes sense on its own.
In maths we have begun multiplication. Alongside learning the formal methods we will be problem solving and looking for patterns.
Maths - reinforces the addition and subtraction work we are doing.
English reinforces the spelling patterns we have been learning.
This is in the homework folders.
Maths is negative numbers. Please encourage the children to use a number line.
English is word class. Top Tip - an adverb adds information to the verb and doesn't always end in ly.
