School Council

West End School Council meet weekly to discuss upcoming events, fund raising ideas and how the pupils can participate in the everyday life of the school. School council gives every child a voice !

The Council is made up of pupils from Reception to Year 6. We have a Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary and Treasurer. We also have two council representitives who meet with other school counillors in Horsforth.

"So far this year...

  • We have organised and run successful fund raising events for 'Children in Need' and  'Bake a School Difference.'
  • Chosen new playtime equipment.
  • Helped to plan and organise equality and diversity week.
  • We have presented school assemblies
  • Represented our classes in launching balloons with messages of equality, into the community.
  • We sold the poppies in November.

We have developed the new school behaviour code as the 'West End Rap' and will be delivering this in February through a series of assemblies and information into classes.
